Sue Seamon

Sue Seamon attended Peace College and Florida State University, where she worked toward a BFA degree. 

Prior to moving to Beaufort in 2010, Sue lived and worked in High Point, N.C. where she was an artist and copy writer for the furniture industry, manufacturer’s showroom designer and textile marketing director.

Diverse subjects and techniques set Sue's art apart from the expected, with foreign travels in Italy and France adding other inspirations. A special focus that emerged from her travels was a compelling collection of African American portraits exhibited in 2011 at the Red Piano Gallery in St. Helena Island, S.C. and in 2012 at the History Place in Morehead City, N.C. during Black History Month.

Sue's work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and is included in many public and private collections. Her love of the sea is evident in current work at the Mattie King Gallery in Beaufort. Sue’s amusing grown-up picture book about dogs, Letters to Lucky, was published in 2008 and is being sold locally at specialty shops. (336) 869-7000 Email
